Content Assessment involves looking at the content of a website or web application in several different ways. Correct grammar, spelling and accuracy helps ensure a solid over-all flow, giving customers and readers a smooth experience. The assessment involves clicking on all web links and buttons to make sure they perform the correct actions, reading all copy, and accessing all pages viewable to the public, making sure that they all work and there is no 404 errors. A broken link or button can ruin a sale, a purchase, or a customers experience with the application. Content is checked to make sure it is up to date with company standards, contact information is current. Any bugs that are found are documented and presented to the development team.

Sharon Ideas looks to make sure all necessary content is present, and that all areas are fully developed. Screenshots should be adequately explained, copy should be titled and documented, and all pages should have relevant content. If not, the process moves to a content development mode, working with the developers/documentation team to create the needed content.

Content is the fundamental platform for all websites and applications. So it is crucial that it is correct, accurate and well developed.
